Baška is the most popular town of the island of Krk, the maybe you will understand why once you visited it, I see it almost every week.
Baška is located at the southeast of the island of Krk and faced to the open sea. The water temperature is lower than of the rest of the beaches on the island. Clear and clean water will not be easy to forget. Of course also depends on the wind currents of the weather conditions of the sea but you can only feel satisfied. The rest of the island's beaches are equally beautiful but it seems that Baška has something special for all of them who has visited it.

It's main beach, Vela Plaža is gravel and it's about 2 km long. On the one side we have a small port while to the other we have a nature. From the portyou can see the old part of Baška you should not to confused it with Stara Baska, small houses attached one to one, a real small village with lots of colorful shops.

To achieve Baška you have to cross the whole island, pass Krk, Kornić, Punat, also pass through Jurandvor ( where the Baščanska ploča or Baška's table is ). Some curve and you'll arrive at Baška. You can decide whether to keep right and immediately get into the center or continue on the left. Both roads lead to Baška, to the port and to the famous beach. After a few minutes you will be forced to park and continue by walk.

Tourism in recent years have arisen many new buildings, hotels, spas, restaurants and pizzerias, many of them invested in a short time and bet on the future of this resort as they did for all the island of Krk. Until now they have achieved a great success and congratulations from both the tourist operators and tourists.

Informations and useful tips:

1. I advised you to book in advance the apartment or a room at the hotel, the town of Baška is very requested and the apartments are booked early. Contact the owners directly, our friend told us that it was embarrassed because he had guests in two apartments and one of the two couples had paid almost double to the agency respect of the other couple;
2. The hotels tend to give agencies the management of reservation and they "sell" a certain number of rooms. Do not be surprised therefore if a hotel says to be complete while the agency is ready to book a room, it's already happened;



3. In the port of Baška you don't need to book the boat lot because, if necessary, are added on the docks to meet all the demands;
4. The beaches are with a fine graval, it is recommended in July and August to go early in the morning to take place;
5. There are restaurants, pizzerias, tourist agencies, shops of various kinds;
6. A few steps from the beach Vela Plaža there is a popular camping and also a parking lots, various type of mini golf games too.
7. The parking lots are everywhere (not enough for the visits in August), you have to pay them and there is also an area where it is allowed to stop for a shorts stops and you have to expose a time disc;
8. Not far away is an area for FKK naturist beach Camping Bunculuka;
9. The main beach, the one that faced up to Baška, is called Vela Plaža. It's the easiest one, with bowls and very busy already from the first half of July.The other can be reached by taxi-boat;
10. At Baška, you'll also find unique turistic structure with rooms and apartments of 4 and 5 stars called Hotel Atrium Residence Baška.The hotel complex is equipped with a wellness center and conference rooms.
